As with most events, there are hundreds of different types of entertainment to choose from. Getting the entertainment correct for your ceremony will ensure that your guests enjoy have an unforgettable time on your big day, adding to yours and to their enjoyment.

It is best to do thorough research prior to booking anyone, attempt to get personal recommendations or attend an event where the band or DJ is playing to see them at work. Once booked spend time with the act that you have booked explaining to them the type and kind of music you would like playing during the evening to ensure they meet your requirements.

Most bands will play for two 45 minute sessions so it would be wise to ask if they provide a DJ or music system for the remainder of the evening, if not a DJ will have to be booked separately. Also speak to your venue regarding what time the entertainment needs to finish and there is enough space within the venue for the band or DJ.

Entertainment is not limited to the evening reception and can be incorporated at various points during the ceremony and reception. During the ceremony choirs or string quarters make the ceremony have a more unique feel. If you have a number of children attending the wedding it may be worth considering some form of entertainment to keep them amused, magicians or children's entertainers can be hired for several hours. Hiring casino tables and gaming tables also provide extra entertainment for your guest during the reception and can be a great addition for a themed celebration.
