Vet student nurses to walk on coals for cats

A pair of veterinary student nurses will be proving their dedication to felines by walking across hot coals to raise money for charity, kitten insurance customers might be impressed to learn.

Paige Stanley and Emma-Louise Bates are hoping to raise funds for Stourbridge and District Cats Protection, reports Dudley News.

Ms Paige commented: “Although I’m getting more nervous about the firewalk I’m also getting more excited about the challenge.”

However, she did add that she hopes she does not burn her feet too badly on March 26th.

The money raised will contribute to looking after feral, injured, lost and unwanted felines in the DY1 to DY13 postcodes.

Pet insurance customers may wince at the thought of walking across 20 ft of hot coals, but it seems to be a great way to raise funds for animals.

Ruth Lowe, a Cats Protection volunteer, will also be braving the heat in a bid to raise £150 to aid felines.
