St Ives voted top beach resort
Individuals may want to invest in caravan insurance before embarking on a holiday on the south-east coast this summer.
TripAdvisor contributors have voted St Ives as the number one beach resort in the UK and sixth in Europe.
The area is said to boast a wealth of activities and attractions for people of all ages, including a picturesque seafront.
Famous surfing town of Newquay came in second, with Weymouth, Padstow and Bournemouth all noted in the top ten.
Head of tourism at Visit Cornwall Malcolm Bell said: “This award is an amazing testament to the popularity of St Ives which is truly one of the jewels in Cornwall’s crown.”
The European winner was Ayia Napa in Cyprus, which was followed by Skiathos and Mykonos in Greece.
According to the official St Ives website, Guardian readers voted it Seaside Town of the Year in 2007 ahead of 60 other locations across the UK.
