Scouts plan camping trip to Norway
Camping insurance may be a must for a group of scouts who are planning a trip to Norway later this year.
The Halstead and Colne Valley Scouts intend to head to Oslo in July, but need to arrange a number of fundraising events and secure grants in order to generate cash needed for the trip, the Halstead Gazette reports.
During the two-week trip, the 12 to 18-year-olds will take part in outdoor pursuits with their Danish counterparts and set up camp with them.
Assistant district commissioner Steve Sudbury explained the scout group is working hard to secure cash so as many people as possible can head to Oslo.
“We are trying to get grants in various places so that the trip is affordable to all,” he was quoted by the news source as saying.
Another organisation – the 20th Donegal Scout Group from Northern Ireland – recently issued an appeal asking for members of the public to donate their old camping equipment that could be used for trips, the Derry Journal reports.
