Sally Gunnell to open Olympic caravan site
Sports fans with caravan insurance might be tempted to head to Essex during the Olympic Games next year as British runner Sally Gunnell OBE is opening a campsite in the area.
The 400m hurdles gold medal winner’s family owns the land that the site will be developed on.
Some 1,300 caravans will be situated there and for the duration of the Olympic Games in London, Gunnell will be staying at her campsite.
“There will be big TV screens and things going on. Even if people are not at an event they’ll be living the Olympic dream,” she commented.
Experts from the Caravan Club are being brought in to work on the scheme and ensure that everything passes the legal requirements set out by the council.
Those considering taking a trip to Chigwell for the Olympic Games may want to ensure they have caravan insurance to cover their mobile home in the event of an accident.
Gunnell is the only woman ever to hold the Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth titles concurrently.
