Record attendance at caravan event
The organisers of the recent Caravan & Camping Show are celebrating after it was confirmed the event attracted a new record number of attendees.
More than 84,000 people went to the event, which was held at the NEC in Birmingham between February 18th and 23rd, a rise of a few hundred people on the previous year.
Pilote, Adria, Rapido, Hymer, Dethleffs, Frankia, Hobby, Willerby, Omar, Prestige and Isabella were among the companies to exhibit at the show, along with ABI, Bailey, Coachman, Elddis, Lunar, Swift, Trigano, Auto-Trail, Chausson and Roller Team.
John Lally, chief executive of NCC Events, which runs the show, stated that fresh blood was attracted to the industry, as well as core enthusiasts who were also engaged.
"The show has provided newcomers with the opportunity to fully explore and appreciate the many benefits of caravanning and camping. This has given exhibitors a golden opportunity to promote their products, services, parks and campsites to a new customer base as well as service their core market in order to secure sales both during and after the show."
New 2014 ranges of tents from leading manufacturers including Outwell, Vango, Sprayway and Coleman went on display at the Caravan & Camping Show before they arrive in stores.
