Smart Six Week Old Puppy Signed up for Duty

Police are continuously training dogs to be part of their police dog team. Sometimes the dogs
are sent from the general public and other times the dogs are from the Metropolitan Dog School.
The six week old German Shepherd puppy named Yogi has stood out from the crowd and as a consequence Grampian Police
have snapped him up. He was hand selected from the Dog Training School in London and
will now live with a police officer’s family. The lucky individual is thought to be PC Colin Hunter.
Colin Hunter’s current dog is nearing retirement age and therefore when Yogi gets a little older he will
be the perfect replacement. PC Hunter commented, “When he is bigger his duties will include helping to
catch suspects, crowd control, searching for missing persons and missing property. We still hope that
the public will continue to call us and offer their dogs, but by taking one from the Met we are hopefully
guaranteeing that we are getting a dog more or less designed for the job and not one that we have to
re-train.”

Whatever training you choose to undertake with your puppy or dog, you must make sure that you are financially
covered. E&L dog insurance is provided from as little as £5.87 a month. Policy benefits include vet fee
cover up to £6,000, loss by theft or straying up to £1,500, public liability up to £2million plus much
much more. To find out more information or to take out instant cover visit www.eandl.co.uk/dog or call
