Police appeal for owner of red bike
A bike owner may be saved from claiming on their cycle insurance after police seized a mode of transport that is thought to have been stolen.
The red Raleigh Firefly mountain bike was found by officers as part of an operation to curb thefts in Chester, the local Standard reports.
It is thought the cycle may have been taken from an estate in Blacon after being picked up on February 4th.
Constable Darren Frank said: “Obviously we will need some proof of ownership from anyone who claims it, but if you think it is your bike we would like you to get in touch.”
The cycle is described as having 18 gears and a large seat as well as being in a reasonable condition.
Elsewhere, the publication reported how cyclists are being invited to have their bikes security marked at two free drop-in sessions on Saturday (February 19th) and Sunday.
