Police appeal for instrument theft information

A musical insurance claim may have to be made following the theft of several instruments from a vehicle in Carisbrooke, the Isle of Wight.

The car was parked in Gunville Road on Monday July 16th some time after 17:00 BST.

However, when the owner returned to the vehicle the following morning they discovered the Peugeot 306 had been broken into.

The incident was reported to the local police just after 09:00 BST and officers are investigating the theft of several musical instruments that had been stored in the car.

Anyone with information about the incident or whereabouts of the missing instruments are asked to contact Newport Police Station or Crimestoppers.

The news follows a recent report about the theft of several instruments from the Three Horse Shoes pub in High Horton by thieves who cut their way into a marquee.

Around £2,000 worth of damage was caused and instruments worth £3,000 were taken.
