Plans revealed for Harrow caravan site
Plans to create a new caravan site in London have been submitted to the local council.
Harrow Community Sports has released proposals to turn part of Broadfields playing fields into a touring caravan site, reports This Is Local London.
Owner Richard Gabriel stated that it is no longer viable to use the site solely for sports and claimed there is a strong demand for caravan sites in north-west London.
Harrow Borough Council received the plans for the new caravan site last week and will now deliberate on whether or not to allow Harrow Community Sports to move forward with its proposals for Broadfields playing fields.
In the application, Mr Gabriel has argued that converting part of the area into a new site for touring caravans would cause no adverse impact on the "habitat, biodiversity and heritage" of the local area.
Caravan holidays have become increasingly popular in the UK in recent years as people have seen their household budgets reduced by the recession and its after-effects.
Taking a break in a caravan can be a great way to have a low-cost holiday while seeing much of what the UK has to offer for tourists.
