Overseas proposals popular with 60% of men
Overseas wedding insurance may be popular among couples who got engaged while abroad.
New research from currency company Travelex found that proposing in a foreign land is how 60 per cent of men would like to pop the question.
More than 3,000 British males were questioned about where they would like to ask their partner to become their wife, with New York taking the number one spot.
The Big Apple was voted the ideal destination by 32 per cent of men, while Paris came in second with 29 per cent.
Venice was the third most popular choice at 16 per cent.
Meanwhile, long haul destinations such as Cape Town and Dubai were favoured by just under half of those interviewed.
The Daily Mail recently suggested San Francisco, Table Mountain in Cape Town, the Amalfi Coast in Italy and Marrakesh as some of the best places to get hitched abroad.
