Northumberland caravan park named best in north-east
UK tourists could be tempted to head to a caravan park in the north-east of England that has been picked out for praise by the AA.
South Meadows Caravan Park in Belford has been announced as the AA Best Campsite for the North East 2014 as the body launched its Caravan and Camping Guide 2014.
The caravan park is described by the AA as being a "short drive from unspoilt beaches and magnificent Bamburgh Castle", reports the Northumberland Gazette.
It was noted by the AA in its report that South Meadows has been transformed in recent years and has now become a top-quality touring and holiday park.
"Joining the AA Pennant Scheme for the first time in 2014, and achieving an excellent Five-Pennant 87 per cent rating, the park is extremely spacious and no expense has been spared in its landscaping and development," the AA's guide said.
Holiday home owners, seasonal and touring caravans are welcome at South Meadows Caravan Park in Belford, which also has a large, flat camping field.
