Dog lost for 5 years reunited

It was about January 2009 when Sharon Collins tied up her Staffordshire Bull Terrier Ellie outside her local newsagents in Bere Regis, Dorset to return a few minutes later and find out she had gone.

Sharon was heartbroken and searched high and low for any sign of Ellie. She also worked with the charity ‘Dog Lost’ to try and track her down.

Imagine her surprise when she recently received a call from Langdyke Boarding Kennels in Fife, Scotland – some 500 miles away that they had Ellie.

They had scanned her microchip and Sharon’s details came up.

Sharon will probably never how Ellie managed to get north of the border but it is presumed that she was most likely stolen. When she was examined by the vet they also advised that Ellie has had several litters of puppies at some time.

A lot of effort was put in from various people to get Ellie back home with a woman from the kennels driving her from Scotland to Peterborough and someone else completing the journey to Dorset. Ellie is now reunited with her owner and settling back with Sharon’s other dog Tilly who is also a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
