Man jailed after camera theft
A drug addict who stole items such as a digital camera and designer watches has been sent to prison for more than two years.
Terry Payne stole items from Merry Hill shopping centre and was sentenced to 26 months in jail at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
According to a report by the Express and Star, Payne hid under a stall in the centre, covered by a cloth, then emerged to steal products from Watch Hut.
Payne had also stolen a digital camera from an Asda supermarket.
Jas Mann, defending, explained Payne has a drug problem that he has been working hard to overcome, adding: "He does want to be clear of drugs when he's out of custody. He has a grandmother who has properties out of the area where he’s able to move away if necessary."
Earlier in the month, Chelmsford police officers released CCTV images of a man and a women they want to speak to in connection with a camera theft that occurred at Asda in Chelmer Village on August 17th just after 16:45 BST, the Yellow Advertiser reported.
