Madisons’ mission to make ugly pony beautiful
When Maddison Biddlecombe from Southampton set her eyes on foal Diego, she instantly fell in love. The two formed an incredible bond and have so far overcome a great deal as many experts wanted to put down Diego for health reasons.
Poor Diego was born with a rare genetic condition known as Wry Nose Syndrome, meaning that he has a bent nose and an undershot jaw. Luckily for foal and daughter, Madison’s mother Janey Biddlecombe refused.
Maddison informed the Daily Mail “Diego is my best friend and I don’t care what he looks like, to me his face makes him special.
‘He’s so lovely. We have a lot of fun playing games and he likes to chase me around the field.
‘I love him lots and he gives me kisses and cuddles.
‘People shouldn’t say he should be put down because of what he looks like, it doesn’t matter to me.
‘My friends really like him too and we have so much fun feeding him. He’s the best horse ever.’
The family are now saving and trying to raise the £4,000 in funds needed to ensure that Diego can have help from a specialist equine dentist. The treatment should prologue his life and allow the young foal to continue grazing.
E&L Equine Insurance wish Diego and his loving family all the best.
