Judge to decide if Recital can run
A judge is to decide whether a horse can ride in this weekend’s Derby at Epsom after a dispute erupted between the owners of the filly and another horse due to start the race.
According to a report in the Guardian, jockey Kieren Fallon may be stopped from riding Recital this Saturday (June 4th) after he was accused of breaching his contract by Ibrahim Araci, horse owner and industrialist.
Mr Araci alleges that Mr Fallon was due to ride his horse, Native Khan, but refused – and he is now seeking to obtain an injunction to prevent the jockey from racing against him in the famous event.
Jockeys might find it wise to always invest in horse rider insurance even if they are unsure whether they will be taking part in an upcoming race, to cover for last minute decisions.
Reporting ahead of the race, Epsom Derby.net said that “exciting looking” Recital is one of the “major contenders” in the race.
