Horse whisperer Monty Roberts receives MVO
Horse trainer Monty Roberts has been made an honorary Member of the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) for his work with the Queen’s equines, horse insurance customers may be interested to learn.
Among the services he rendered the British monarchy was the taming of one of the Queen Mother’s wildest animals, an act that apparently reduced the royal to tears.
The American expert, who is believed to be the inspiration behind the hit movie The Horse Whisperer, toured England at the request of the Queen.
Starring Robert Redford in the title role, the film was nominated for an Academy Award for best original song.
After receiving the honour, Mr Roberts said: “It is my obligation to continue to earn the respect that my supporters have given me over this past 22 years since first meeting Her Majesty in 1989.”
Equine insurance policyholders with unruly animals may be interested to learn that his training techniques are based on the silent language of horses.
