Getting hitched abroad ‘can be cheaper than the UK’
Engaged couples may want to take out overseas wedding insurance and plan to get hitched abroad, following one expert’s comments.
Site editor at hitched.co.uk Francesca Moore described how tying the knot in foreign lands can be cheaper than in the UK.
Booking a ceremony at an all-inclusive resort may mean that bride and grooms-to-be do not have to spend large sums on added extras, she stated.
“Package deals will generally include food and wine so your guests won’t be hungry and no one will have to worry about spending a lot of money at the bar,” Ms Moore explained.
To reduce costs further, Ms Moore advised couples to ask wedding planners to see if they can include a photographer in the package.
It was also noted that newlyweds may want to stay on at the venue for their honeymoon, which could save travel costs.
One in ten guests expect to stay for the honeymoon, according to Post Office International Payments.
