Food festival comes to caravan site
Those with an interest in high-quality food may want to purchase caravan insurance and head to Oxfordshire later this month to sample some of the delicacies that will be on offer at the Wallingford Food Festival.
The inaugural event will be hosted at the Bridge Villa caravan and campsite in Crowmarsh Gifford on May 14 between 10:00 BST and 17:00 BST, the Oxford Times reports.
Currently, seventeen producers have agreed to demonstrate their wares at the festival, which will feature locally-sourced meat, fruit, cakes, jams, beer and wine.
Paul Bellchambers, who runs the Late Chef catering company, said he hoped the event would be able to earn a reputation for quality that would attract visitors from across the country.
“It would be great if we could get Wallingford a new reputation as a town for food enthusiasts,” he said.
The patron of the festival will be actor, director and producer Gerald Dickens, great great grandson of the famous Victorian author Charles Dickens.
While in the town, visitors may also be able to explore its links with crime writer Agatha Christie and see some of the filming locations for TV show Midsomer Murders.
