Famous dressage horse, Dikkiloo dies
Former British Olympic dressage horse Dikkiloo had to be humanely destroyed on 31st October 2010 after a bad case of colic. The horse represented Great Britain internationally with rider Kirsty Mepham from the late 90s until his retirement from competitions in 2002 and full retirement due to laminitis in 2006. The chestnut Gelderlander gelding was 25-years-old when he was euthanized and will be missed by the Mepham family who had him since he was six years old.
