Escaped horses stop traffic on A354
Losing an animal may be an inconvenience for those with horse insurance customers, but for the owner of six creatures in Dorchester it became a nightmare when the creatures took off down the A354.
Six equines escaped and were spotted on a roundabout at Dorchester Football Club before taking off towards Weymouth, reports the Dorset Echo.
The incident took place on Saturday June 11th and a spokesperson for Dorset Police said there were numerous calls about the animals.
According to the representative, the owner of the creatures believed they were deliberately released from their field.
One woman who saw the events on the road unfold, but who asked not to be named, commented: “I was running towards them but then the police turned up and shooed them into Winterborne Monkton.”
In September last year, the M42 was brought to a standstill when a horse was injured while in transit and had to be taken out of its box on to the hard shoulder, BBC News reported.
