Didier Drogba weds long-term love
Premiership footballer Didier Drogba may have taken out wedding insurance before tying the knot with his fiancee Lalla Diakite in Monaco.
The couple, who have been together since 1999 and have three children, decided after 12 years to make their union official, the Daily Mail reports.
Friends and family watched the pair exchange vows in a private ceremony at the Marie de Monaco hotel.
The bride wore a strapless floor-length white gown that featured a sweetheart neckline and a long veil.
Meanwhile Drogba, who was flanked by his teammates and groomsmen Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda, opted for a grey suit and white shirt.
The bridesmaids were dressed in lilac frocks that were teamed with matching shawls and cream-coloured fascinators.
Unlike other footballers such as David Beckham and Ashley Cole, Drogba is said to have shunned a magazine deal and will not be selling shots of his wedding to the press.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is understood to have been among the famous faces present at the ceremony.
