Corrie actress adopts abandoned puppy
ITV daytime television show, This Morning, ran a campaign alongside the RSPCA highlighting the impact of abandoned puppies. The corrie actress saw the three month old Labrador puppy on the show and instantly fell in love with him. The presenters of the show, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announced that Kym Marsh had called the show whilst they were still on air. Phillip Schofield said “we can’t obviously just give Oliver away, even to Kym, but we are putting her in touch with the RSPCA and they can hopefully sort it out between the two of them. So we may have homed one of our dogs already.” The RSPCA did a vetting of her home and personal circumstances to see if Kym and her family would be able to take care of the puppy, Oliver. Oliver was found abandoned in a box outside a pet shop in Surrey just after Christmas.
Kym Marsh has said ‘I was off work and we were watching the show and I felt so sorry for all the dogs, but little Oliver walked on and looked so chilled in the studio, he just melted our hearts. The RSPCA do an amazing job for not just dogs but all animals and I’m so pleased to be able to support the Society and adopt Oliver to give him the home he deserves.’
The warning to all potential dog owners is ‘A dog is for life, not just for Christmas.’ A dog requires a lot of attention, care and love. Pet insurance is one way to protect yourself financially should your dog require veterinary care throughout its life. E&L pet insurance offer comprehensive dog insurance from only £5.87 a month.
