Caravan thieves steal horse equipment
Thieves have broken into a caravan in Bury and stolen several pieces of horse riding equipment.
The incident occurred on Chalk Road, Brandon between 18.30 GMT on Saturday (March 30th) and 9.30 BST on Sunday, the Bury Free Press reports.
Among the items taken were a black bridle with a white flash noseband, a plain black bridle and a black Thorowgood saddle.
Police across the UK have warned caravan owners to be vigilant over the coming summer holiday season, with reports criminals may target those they expect to be loaded with travel essentials.
As such, it is necessary to ensure all recreational vehicles are protected with suitable caravan insurance.
In addition, police insisted owners should look to remove any valuables when they leave the caravan, or ensure they are stored out of sight if this is not possible. Leaving curtains open can also help to deter would-be thieves by showing there are no items of value on display.
