Caravan site wins award from David Bellamy
Individuals looking for caravan insurance may want to visit one family-run site that has been praised for its sustainable living initiatives.
The Henley Standard reports how Hurley Riverside Park has been presented with a gold 2011 David Bellamy Conservation Award.
Described as a “wildlife wonderland” by Professor Bellamy, it is the 16th year the site has been given the accolade.
Janet Burfitt, who owns the park along with her husband Richard, claimed living in the area was a “great privilege” and that the couple enjoy introducing eco-friendly methods.
She said: “Our staff were also delighted at the news of these awards as they play a big part putting our policies into action and it’s their dedication which makes our work possible.”
The park was given the recognition thanks to its vast, unspoilt habitat that allows wildlife to thrive alongside holidaymakers.
More than 300 caravans are based at the site, while there is also pitches available for touring mobile homes and campers.
