Caravan site wins award
Clover Fields Touring Caravan Park has been named the best site in the Derbyshire region, as well as among the top 100 in the country.
It was picked out as the regional winner for the Heart of England region in Practical Caravan magazine's Top 100 sites competition and it was also a finalist in the publication's top 100 UK sites.
Jan Redfern, who runs Clover Fields with her husband Stephen and three children, described the news as "amazing".
Speaking to the Derbyshire Times, she said: "It is like a tick for the park in terms of us being up there with the best. It feels as though the park has secured its spot against its peers."
The prize was given to the site at a special event held at Birmingham's Hilton Hotel last week.
Last month, the people who run the Shorrocks Barn site in Back Lane, Weeton, were given approval to allow touring caravans to stay for longer than 28 days, the Lancashire Evening Post reported.
Fylde Council's planning committee gave the green light, on the proviso that nobody lives at the site on a permanent basis.
