Caravan park extension ‘concerns residents’
Individuals looking to renew their caravan insurance may be interested to hear how a plan to extend a mobile home park has divided opinion.
Jeff King of Thorney Bay Caravan Park in Canvey is hoping to add an extra 800 new homes to his site which currently houses 1,000 units, the local Echo reports.
However, local residents living near to the existing park have raised concerns about the increase in tenants and are planning to petition Castle Point Council to reject the proposals.
Janice Payne, a Canvey Independent Party councillor, said: "A group of residents opposed to the plans have printed leaflets and started posting them through people's doors."
She explained how her personal concerns would be about how the drainage system would cope and if there would be sufficient space at schools and surgeries in the area.
Caravan enthusiasts have the option of renting or buying a mobile home at Thorney Bay Park, which is a secure, gated site.
