Be aware of fire risk
Caravans just like homes, can be subject to fires – so it makes sense to protect you, your family and your finances.
Caravans are made up of a substantial amount of wood and often, due to the appliances being fuelled by gas canisters – even the smallest ignition of a flame can be hazardous.
Just like our homes, it is vital that all touring and static caravan owners have a fire alarm fitted and do not block escape routes. Fire crews were recently called out to a blaze within a static caravan park where one caravan was completely burned the second had 40% damage and the third suffered moderate damage from the heat alone. Luckily no one was injured, but the incident really does highlight the importance of safety.
Make sure that your holiday is accident free by adhering to all caravan site rules and being cautious about faults within your caravan and naked flames from caravan accessories, such as candles and barbeques.
Caravan insurance from E&L offers competitive cover for your static or touring caravan. Policies start from as little as £4.20 a month and cover for all accidental damage such as fire. Caravan insurance won’t stop fire and other accidents from happening however, it will be there to ease the financial outlay should something go wrong.
