Camera theft investigated by police

Police in North Yorkshire have launched an investigation after the theft of a camera from a car.

Scarborough police issued a public appeal for information about the incident, which took place at the Mere, Mere Lane, between 18:15 BST and 18:45 BST on August 21st.

As well as an Olympus digital camera, the thieves took a bag containing children's swimwear.

A camera insurance claim may need to be made by the victim of the theft in the wake of the incident.

Police stated that anyone who believes they can assist with the enquiry ought to contact Scarborough police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Martin Pullan.

Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 12130144102 to give their information.

Earlier this month, Robert Fleetwood and Bryn Jones pleaded guilty to camera theft charges after they stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and equipment from the home of a pensioner, the Worcester News reported.
