Camera and diamonds stolen in property theft

A police appeal for information has been launched after rings, diamonds and a camera were stolen from a property in Stevenage.

A Nikon D5000 digital camera was among the items taken in the raid, which occurred at a home in Bridge Road West between 03.15 GMT and 04.45 GMT.

Several diamonds also went missing following the robbery, as well as two white gold diamond rings.

Detective Constable Kirsty Chenery, who is investigating the theft, told the Advertiser that anyone around the property would have stood out as it was so early in the morning.

"If anyone saw anything or anyone unusual or suspicious in the area in the early hours of the morning, please get in touch with me," she said.

The victims – who were left "shaken" according to the officer – may be able to put in a claim on their camera insurance policy after the Nikon D5000 digital camera was stolen.

A teenager was recently arrested after items including a camera were stolen from a restaurant on the south coast of England.

The 19-year-old was also accused of stealing two bottles of whisky and a laptop from Heaven restaurant on Exeter Street on October 30th, the Plymouth Herald reported.
