Brits are getting more exotic
In a recent poll carried out by Thompson Holidays, it was found that the number of British holidaymakers willing to travel further than Europe for their holiday destination has increased from 2009.
The poll of 1159 adults revealed that nearly 50 per cent of British holidaymakers are now going on long haul destinations. Thompson also found that long haul holidays have increased 14 per cent since last year. These include destinations such as India, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and Egypt.
Some important factors are sightseeing, hot climate and the poor exchange rates in Europe are encouraging holiday makers to seek more exotic locations where their pound will stretch further.
Thompson’s Managing Director told The Daily Telegraph, “Our latest figures show that Britons are determined to take a real break this summer and it’s ‘awaycations’ all the way – not just sun and sand, but new cultures and locationsâ€.
