Be prepared for rain and sun at summer weddings, expert advises
When organising a summer wedding it is important to be prepared for all weather conditions, according to one expert.
Georgina Way, student liaison officer at The Wedding Planner School, described how warm, sunny conditions are not guaranteed in the UK and so having umbrellas to hand is a good idea.
Should the weather turn out to be hot and bright, wedding insurance customers may want to ensure they still make a number of extra preparations so guests are kept comfortable.
Cold water and areas of shade were recommended, along with checking if bridesmaids suffer from hayfever, as this may affect what type of flowers they have in their bouquet.
"Something else that is worth considering is to invest in some citronella candles, or similar, to keep away wasps and insects," Ms Way stated.
With rain a distinct possibility at a British summer wedding, those hosting outdoor ceremonies may want to consider hiring a marquee or having an inside area set aside in case people need to shelter.
