Anglers needed for fishing contest
Angling insurance customers may want to put their hobby to good use and help raise money for charity.
The Grimsby Telegraph reports how patrons of the Laura McPhee Memorial Fund are looking for sponsors and fishermen to take part in an event at Hunters Lodge Fishery in Brigg.
All money raised from the competition will be donated to the cause, which was established in memory of nine-year-old Laura after she passed away in December following an asthma attack.
A £100 prize will be offered to the winner and there are 35 pegs available for keen fishermen.
Entry to the contest is set at £12 per person and it is scheduled to take place on Saturday (May 7th) at 10:00 BST.
Laura’s great uncle Billy Collins, who helped arrange the competition, said: “I really hope we can raise a lot of money – but we need more anglers and sponsors to make this a success.”
Hunters Lodge Fishery is located in the Lincolnshire Wolds and has four lakes for anglers of all ages and abilities.
