An 18th Century setting for a web-cam wedding

Improvements in technology have transformed the daily routine of people all over the world.

Web-cams help families and loved ones stay connected over long distances and have even helped prevent the death of many ‘long distance relationships’.

For one couple in Scotland a web-cam is even allowing them to watch their son get married.

Hannah Staddon and Duncan Gray are due to marry in the 18th Century Le Don Hilton in St Ouen’s Bay, Jersey.

Duncan’s parents were due to be their on the day however due to ill health they are no longer able to travel.

Desperate for his parents to see the ceremony, Duncan struck upon the idea to broadcast the ceremony over a web cam.

However, the 18th Century property where they are due to marry has no electricity or phone line.

Luckily Duncan and Hannah have made arrangements to set up a mobile broadcast, through Jersey Telecom’s mobile broadband service.

Their efforts will surely mean that this web-cam wedding is watched by one set of very proud parents.
