Luckily E&L® are happy to offer comprehensive, low cost older dog insurance with a range of competitively priced premiums and excellent levels of cover for dogs of any age.
E&L® also offer insurance policies for older dogs so no matter what their age you can be safe in the knowledge that your dog will be covered.
Senior dog insurance policies start from as little as £13.59 per lunar monthly policy and offer 12 month's free membership to The National Pet Register 24hr lost and found service should your dog become lost or stolen.

Area Classification
- Area A: All counties other than those in Area B or Area C
- Area B: Berkshire, Essex, Sussex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Middlesex and Surrey
- Area C: London
Excess
The excess is the amount you pay towards a claim. It is from £55–£159 (dependent on the area of the country and the plan type you have chosen), plus, under Vet's Fees, 35% of the remaining claim except public liability claims where the excess is £250.

The following discounts are available on E&L® Senior Dog Insurance:
- 20% online discount
- 10% multi pet discount
The total maximum discount per policy is 30%.
Introductory discounts provided only apply to new policies taken out online.
To be eligible for E&L® Senior Dog Insurance the following conditions must be met:
- The policyholder is a UK resident aged over 18 years
- The Senior Dog must be aged 8 years or over
- E&L must be advised of any pre-existing medical conditions
- Breed must comply with our dangerous breed exclusions

- As my dog gets older and poses less of a risk, do I still need public liability cover?
- Yes, there is still the chance that an accident can occur - no matter what age your dog is. Public Liability cover simply protects you should the need arise. It is free as part of your policy.

- If I choose not to vaccinate my senior dog am I able to arrange cover?
- Yes, however unvaccinated senior dogs will not be covered if they show signs of: Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Parvovirus. If any illness preventable by routine vaccination occurs, this will be excluded from your policy (unless the vaccine failed).

- My senior dog needs dental treatment, is this covered under my policy?
- Yes, so long as the treatment was undertaken for health requirements and related to a specific condition we will not cover for non routine or cosmetic dental complications on this policy.
