Senior Cat Insurance FAQs

If the following FAQs don't answer your query please have a look at our General FAQs or our Leisure and Lifestyle Insurance FAQs sections.

I'm thinking of buying a more senior cat, are there any excluded breeds?
No, we currently will insure any breed of cat, regardless of age.
If I choose not to vaccinate my senior cat am I able to arrange cover?
Yes, however unvaccinated senior cats will not be covered if they show signs of: Feline Infectious Enteritis, Feline Leukemia and Cat flu. If any illness preventable by routine vaccination occurs, this will be excluded from your policy (unless the vaccine failed).

My senior cat needs dental treatment, is this covered under my policy?
Yes, so long as the treatment was undertaken for health requirements and related to a specific condition we will not cover for non routine or cosmetic dental complications on this policy.

Senior Cat Tips and Advice

Adopting a Senior Cat
There is the stigma that taking on a senior cat is not a great idea, as more often than not people believe that the older the cat, the more problems it may have, especially if it has been taken into a rescue centre.
Do I let my senior cat outdoors?
If you have or take on a senior cat, you will have to consider whether or not you want them to venture outdoors?
Feeding your senior cat
As a cat matures and grows into a senior cat we often find that, like humans, their health and energy slowly decline.
Senior Cat Health Check
Cat owners spend so much time with their animals, either grooming, stroking or observing their movements.
