Cat Insurance FAQs

If the following FAQs don't answer your query please have a look at our General FAQs or our Leisure and Lifestyle Insurance FAQs sections.

Am I able to arrange cover if I choose not to have my cat vaccinated?
Yes, although unvaccinated cats are not covered for: Feline Infectious Enteritis, Feline Leukemia and Cat flu. In addition any treatment required for an illness that may have been prevented with a routine vaccination will be excluded (unless the vaccine failed).
Am I able to claim for any dental treatment for my cat within this policy?
If the treatment was relating to a condition and not routine or for cosmetic reasons it would be covered by the policy.
Are all breeds of cat covered by the policy?
Yes. There are currently no cat breeds that we cannot insure.
My cat is close to turning 8 years old and they are insured with you, what happens?
Your cat will simply be transferred onto our senior cat policy.
Why is my cat not covered against liability risks?
Under UK law you cannot be held liable for the actions of your cat. This is different for a dog where you are responsible for any injury or damage to third party property that they may cause.
Will my cat medical insurance help if my cat is lost?
Yes. We always aim to re-unite a lost cat with its owner, that's why as part of your policy we offer cover for advertising and reward to help you cover the cost of getting your cat back. Each policyholder has the option to accept membership for National Pet Register, a 24 hour service available to help reunite missing pets with their owners. Costing only £1.
