Hints & Tips
Fishing seasons will affect when and what type of fish you can catch. Different species of fish come to the water at different times of the year; this is usually dictated by the water temperature.
Game fish are most active during the spring and autumn months as during these months the fish are either searching for prey or reproducing. During winter and summer game fish are generally more sluggish and less likely to chase anglers lure.
Fly fishing stops during the winter months as this is the salmon and trout spawning season. Spring is the best time for fly fishing with the salmon season starting in February and trout season starting around the middle of March.
Night fishing can be classed as more fruitful; most predatory fish are more active at night. Some species are only worth fishing for after dark.
