Some people wrongly believe their household contents insurance will cover their fishing equipment. In many instances this is not the case. A large proportion of household policies exclude sports equipment insurance and sports injury cover.
E&L® offer schemes for coarse and match and game fishing all providing 100% theft, damage and accidental loss cover. We provide up to £10,000 personal accident cover and up to £1.25 million public liability. We also offer many other benefits including reimbursement of club fees and match fees.

Excess
The excess is the amount you pay towards a claim. It is £45 on all sections, except worldwide claims where the excess is £60, unattended vehicle claims where the excess is £99 and public liability where it is £150.

The following discounts are available on E&L® Fishing Insurance:
- 5% discount for juniors and anglers over 65
The total maximum discount per policy is 20%.
Introductory discounts provided only apply to new policies taken out online.
To be eligible for E&L® Fishing Insurance the following conditions must be met:
- The policyholder is a UK resident aged over 18 years

- Not at present, but it is something we may consider in the future. We currently insure both coarse fishing and match and game fishing.

- No, the cover is only applicable to you.

- Am I covered if I take my fishing equipment abroad?
- The policy covers any damage, loss or liability in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. However we do offer an optional extension for Worldwide cover where insurance is operable up to 60 days in a year (monthly policies) / 30 days (annual policies) whilst You are using the insured items Worldwide.

- Do you cover clothing and camping equipment?
- We do cover specialist fishing clothing under our standard policy although you are required to specify each item and the corresponding value in order for cover to be operable. We do not cover camping equipment under an angling policy but we do offer a separate policy for this.

- How do I insure small items like hooks and floats?
- These are covered under our tackle box contents cover which is available up to a maximum of £300. You do not need to specify these items individually.
