Excess
The excess is the amount you pay towards a claim. It is £45 on all sections, except worldwide claims where the excess is £60, unattended vehicle claims where the excess is £99 and public liability where it is £150.

The following discounts are available on E&L® Fishing Insurance:
- 5% discount for juniors and anglers over 65
The total maximum discount per policy is 20%.
Introductory discounts provided only apply to new policies taken out online.
To be eligible for E&L® Fishing Insurance the following conditions must be met:
- The policyholder is a UK resident aged over 18 years

The policy covers any damage, loss or liability in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. However we do offer an optional extension for Worldwide cover where insurance is operable up to 60 days in a year (monthly policies) / 30 days (annual policies) whilst You are using the insured items Worldwide.

- Do you cover clothing and camping equipment?
We do cover specialist fishing clothing under our standard policy although you are required to specify each item and the corresponding value in order for cover to be operable. We do not cover camping equipment under an angling policy but we do offer a separate policy for this.

These are covered under our tackle box contents cover which is available up to a maximum of £300. You do not need to specify these items individually.

What does fishing insurance include?
The fishing tackle insurance offered by E&L provides 100% theft, damage and accidental loss cover on all of your equipment. It also includes two years new-for-old replacement on unattended vehicles - perfect if you have to park your car and leave it for the day while practicing your sport.
As well as protecting the various pieces of kit that a fisherman owns, our fishing insurance also includes temporary disablement and personal accident cover, as well as public liability of up to £1.25 million per incident.
For those who take part in night fishing, a policy extension is available to cover the risks associated with this activity. Additionally, all policies include reimbursement for club and match fees, in case you cannot participate due to illness or injury.
We offer two payment options for our fishing insurance: yearly and monthly. The monthly plan is based on the lunar calendar (with a 28-day month) and it is the ideal option, as it costs less but includes a higher level of cover. A 5% discount is also available for junior anglers and those over 65.
