Does cover under my pet care insurance have a time limit?
Claims for vet's fees can be made for a period of 12 months from the onset of the claim.
Will my pet medical insurance help if my cat or dog is lost?
Yes we offer financial assistance towards the cost of trying to find your pet including costs for advertising and rewards.
Do you stop offering cover as my pet gets older?
No, we provide cover for pets up to any age under our senior pet plan.
As my pet has suffered medical problems in the past are you still be able to offer cover?
Until we know the exact details of the illness/condition we cannot answer this question. We may be able to offer cover with endorsements and exclusions in place regarding the pre-existing condition.
Are there any dogs you won't cover?
Unfortunately, we can't offer cover for the following breeds of dogs:

Will all my vet's bills be covered?
Cover is provided for unanticipated costs and does not cover routine visits to the vets such as for vaccinations, boosters, worming treatment.
Will my vets fees be covered if my pet is staying with someone else?
Yes, as long as you have informed us of this and we have agreed and disclosed on your policy.
What amount will I have to pay as an excess?
The excess amount varies depending on the age of the pet, the home address of the policyholder, the policy chosen and the type of claim. Full details can be found in the appropriate policy wording relevant to the cover you have chosen.
How will the vet bills be paid if my pet needs treatment?
Payments can be made either to yourself or the vet directly.
If my pet has a condition which needs ongoing treatment, do I need to wait until the treatment has finished before I can make my claim?
No, details should be submitted regarding the claim as soon as a diagnosis is made.
What should I do if my pet is referred on to a specialist?
Should your pet require further treatment from a specialist please call us and we will advise you of the action that needs to be taken.
What should I do if I have 'Pet Travel Cover' and I need to make a claim when abroad?
You should inform us as soon as possible regarding the claim and we will advise you of the action that needs to be taken. You should keep any receipts, invoices or any other evidence of your expenses when abroad as these may help to support your claim.
Why is my cat not covered against liability risks?
Under UK law you cannot be held liable for the actions of your cat. This is different for a dog where you are responsible for any injury or damage to third party property that they may cause.
I've got more than one cat/dog - are there any discounts if I insure them both with you?
We provide a 10% multi pet discount.
Do you offer a No Claims discount if I do not make a claim?
No.
Will I be able to claim for problems my pet has suffered in the past?
Pre-existing conditions and conditions diagnosed within the first 14 days of the policy inception are not covered.
Are there any treatments I am unable to claim for?
We will not pay for preventative, cosmetic and routine treatments and claims for any behavioural problems.
Am I able to claim for any dental treatment within this policy?
If the treatment was relating to a condition and not routine or for cosmetic reasons it would be covered by the policy.
Am I able to arrange cover if I choose not to have my animal vaccinated?
Yes, although unvaccinated dogs are not covered for: Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Parvovirus. Unvaccinated cats are not covered for: Feline Infectious Enteritis, Feline Leukaemia and Cat flu. In addition any treatment required for an illness that may have been prevented with a routine vaccination will be excluded (unless the vaccine failed).
How are premiums calculated?
We calculate your premiums based on the age of your pet and the area where you live.
Why do I need third party liability cover for my dog?
The world is becoming an even more litigious and claims for compensation are commonplace. Third party liability cover gives you peace of mind should your dog cause damage to someone else's property or to them.
