Musical Equipment Insurance

Do you only cover UK residents?
Yes, cover is only available for residents of the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Northern Ireland.
I have previously made a claim, does this affect my cover?
Unfortunately we are unable to offer cover if a claim has been made in the previous two years at the same risk address as to that which you are proposing cover.
What information do you need to start cover?
As well as asking you for your full contact details we require details of the risk address where the equipment is stored and a list of all equipment providing details of the make and models. We require serial numbers for items valued over £1000 although allow you 21 days to provide these.
Do you insure recording studios?
We are able to cover the equipment in the studio although not the building itself.
What is the minimum/maximum age?
Applicants must be aged over 18 years old with no maximum age limit.
What is the maximum value you insure?
We can provide cover for equipment up to a value of £30 000.
Is there an excess on this policy?
£35 on claims for Hire of Replacement Equipment £100 on claims on equipment valued up to £10,000. £125 on claims on equipment valued between £10,001 and £20,000. £150 on claims on equipment valued between £20,001 and £30,000.
Are there any items you cannot cover?
We cover most items with the exception of consumables such as leads and cables. Laptop equipment and computers can be covered if they are used in conjunction with the musical equipment and business. We are able to provide cover for Karaoke machines although exclude cover for accidental damage.
Do I need any specific security on my vehicle or where I keep my equipment?
Yes, full details are provided within the policy wording.
Am I covered if I lend, loan or hire my equipment to another person?
No, the cover is only applicable for yourself.
Am I covered to take my equipment abroad?
If you have selected one of our All Risk policies you are automatically covered for up to 120 days within a 365 day policy period.
