We offer four different veteran horse insurance plans for older and mature horses. Each with a comprehensive list of cover with benefits including public liability, vet's fees, tack and personal accident.

Our benefits vary between the different levels of cover. We offer public liability cover up to £1.75m. This is essential as you are now liable for any damage or injury that your horse does to others regardless of whether you are negligent or not.

For many horse owners, vet fees cover is one of the most vital parts of the insurance policy. We offer vet's fees up to £6,000, giving you complete peace of mind. Cover for theft and straying is also offered up to £2,000.

Take a look at our veteran cover and choose which plan would be best for you and your horse or pony.

  • Is my horse too old to insure?
  • No, under the mature horse policy E&L will insure any horse from 15 years old, with no maximum age limit.

  • My mature horse may be ridden by family and friends, is this ok and will they still be covered by my mature horse policy?
  • Yes, you are able to allow friends and family to ride. The person riding must have the express permission from the owner and they must be aged between 5-75 years.

  • Why insure your mature horse?
  • Unfortunately as horses mature, they are more susceptible to injury. Often events can happen when you least expect it. By taking out a mature horse policy, you will be financially covered for loss, theft, public liability claims to name but a few. Taking out mature horse insurance will allow you to enjoy spending time with and riding your horse or pony.
