It may not be a consideration for all dog insurance policyholders but singer Mariah Carey has taken her Jack Russell terriers to a pet psychologist to ready them for when she gives birth.

According to the Independent, an expert on the breed believes the pooches can be both possessive and jealous when it comes to their owners, so perhaps Carey’s concern for Cha-Cha, JJ, Dolomite and Jackie Lambchops’ welfare is very well placed indeed.

The 41-year-old – who is expecting twins with husband Nick Cannon – recently revealed that her pups are well cared for, explaining that they once brought their own “mini entourage” with them during a video shoot.

“And why wouldn’t they? It was a big shoot and even my entourage had an entourage,” she remarked.

People seeking puppy insurance who are keen to take their lead from Mariah might want to invest in some doggy accessories from the Paris Hilton Pet Collection, which features a variety of clothes and beds with which to spoil animals rotten.
