- RSPCA looking for health conscious cat owner
- December 2, 2009 | 0 Responses
A pet rescue centre based in Cambridgeshire have an overweight cat that they want to re-home. The Block Fen Animal Centre in Wimblington have strange criteria that they want the new owner to fulfil; to be health conscious and to be able to identify with a food obsessed cat. The owner will need to put the cat on a strict healthy eating plan and constantly monitor its weight. When the cat was brought into the centre by RSPCA officials, the cat weighed an astonishing 11kgs. Since it has been on a healthy eating diet, it has since shed 1/3 of it’s body weight. The RSPCA have said ‘Higgins is still very competitive over her food. This cat will need a very special new home as he is obsessed with food and will need someone who can commit to helping him towards a healthy lifestyle.” The cattery supervisor added “He has a long way to go to reach his target weight, but we think Higgins will make the perfect companion especially to anyone who can identify with the trials and tribulations of weight watching.”
