- Parrot Gets Stuck In Tree After Escape
- September 28, 2009 | 0 Responses
Emma Hopper, a 27 year old animal lover, was concerned after her parrot flew up a tree and got stuck there. Cleo, the 13 year old macaw escaped from Miss Hooper’s garden and flew onto a branch 50ft up the tree. The bird became scared of the height and refused to come down. Emma was unable to get the RSPCA or the fire brigade to come out and so she resorted to hiring a cherry picker for £80 to rescue her pet.
The caring owner stayed out all night at the bottom of the tree until the crane arrived at 7.30am the following morning, 16 hours after the bird first got stuck. Emma went up on the crane and coaxed her parrot onto her arm and back down to safety. Emma said, “Cleo was obviously very scared. People might think I’m daft but Cleo is my baby – she’s so loyal and loving and I’ve got a wonderful bond with her.”
Like all pet owners, Emma wanted to care for and protect her beloved animal; and Bird Insurance from E&L can help you do just that.
