- Andy Murray's dog rushed to vet

Andy Murray had a scare after his pet dog was rushed to the vets soon after his defeat in the semi final at Wimbledon 2009.
His border terrier named Maggie was swiftly taken by pet ambulance from his £5 million home in Surrey to a nearby vet. The dog was suffering with a mystery illness which worried the tennis ace and his girlfriend. They called the ambulance to take Maggie to their local vet who subsequently did an x-ray to try and identify the problem. It was revealed that Maggie had swallowed a number of rocks from Andy Murray’s back garden. He and his girlfriend had only moved into their luxury home a matter of weeks previously.The vets decided to operate on Maggie to remove the stones as they were too large to pass through the dog’s body naturally.
Tennis fans will be pleased to hear that Maggie made a full recovery as Murray has previously commented that his secret to keeping calm and stress-free is all the walking he does with Maggie between his hectic schedule of training and tournaments.
