Top Gun actress Kelly McGillis married her sales executive girlfriend Melanie Leis in New Jersey last week. The New York Times reported that the couple tied the knot at the Collingswood Municipal Court in front of Judge Robert T. Zane III last Wednesday. The couple met in 2000 as Leis worked behind the bar in a restaurant owned by McGillis and her second husband. Kelly came out about her sexuality in 2009 during an interview with a website when they asked her if she would date a man or a woman, she replied: ‘Definitely a woman. I’m done with the man thing. It’s part of being true to yourself.’ A screen siren in the 80s who appeared in successful film such as Top Gun and the Witness, this civil union between Kelly and Melanie marks a new chapter in her life, as she added: ‘I just decided to be absolutely honest.’
