At the weekend a young women went to her stables to find that she had been the victim of a burglary. Unfortunately the robbers had broken into her stables and had stolen three saddles and multiple bridles along with other equestrian equipment. Suzanne McDonald, 17 of Forfar said “It seems like the thieves knew exactly what they were after, and it looked like a planned robbery considering the things taken. To escape with what they had would have taken a lot of work as well because the heavy rain had made the field quite difficult to access.”
Unfortunately Miss McDonald’s misery was made worse when she realised that she does not have equine insurance in place. A company such as E&L Horse Insurance would have provided Miss McDonald with comprehensive cover not only for her saddlery and tack but also a policy would have given her cover for all of her 8 horses and ponies and cover for herself.
Miss McDonald said “None of it was insured, because you do not expect someone to break into a stable and take horseriding equipment. I will now have to try and pull some money together to replace all of this.” The equipment had been securely locked away using two padlocks in the stable. E&L Horse Insurance’s advice would be to make sure that you have marked all your tack in some way, this then gives police a better chance of recuperating your stolen items.
E&L Horse Insurance offer you peace of mind financially. E&L offer comprehensive horse insurance from as little as £3.30 a month. E&L Horse Insurance policy benefits include cover for public liability, theft or straying, saddlery and tack, vet fee cover up to £5,750 per incident plus much more.
