Darren Gough, an England cricket hero from South Yorkshire is supporting the National campaign ‘Get On’. The scheme is encouraging people of all ages to get aboard the two-wheeled vehicle.
Gough, has recently swapped his cricket whites for his leathers and has been taking part in motorcycle lessons. He has reported that he was attracted to motor-biking when he was in India and spotted a Harley Davidson whilst on tour with the England cricket team.
Darren said “I can’t believe I’ve finally done it. I’ve dreamt of being on a bike for so long that to actually pass my compulsory basic motorcycle training and to be on the road to getting my full licence is amazing”.
It appears that it is not only Darren Gough that has taken to biking over previous years, as many of the England Cricket Star’s are opting to travel by two wheels. “Freddie Flintoff and a few of the other England boys ride bikes and it’s been something I’ve wanted to do for ages but was never really sure how to go about it all. Just riding a 125cc was so much fun, so I can’t wait till I’ve got my full licence and I can ride the Harley I’ve been wanting for so long now.”
The ‘Get On’ campaign is offering one hour free riding lessons throughout the country. For more information on the scheme log onto, www.geton.co.uk to book your free rider taster session.
