- Equine competition launched by Cheshire Business Woman

British Dressage used to run a showjumping and dressage competition but pulled the plug on the event last year. Equestrian enthusiasts thought the popular event had just merely stopped. That is when the business woman and horse riding enthusiast stepped in and took up the challenge of organising and running this event. Ruth Mealey runs Liberte’ Horsebox Hire in Sugar Lane in Manley said “This was a very popular series and it was terrible when it was dropped. I know so many people who loved attending and taking part and that is why I decided to take it on.”
Ruth has arranged to hold the event at South View Equestrian Centre in Wettenhall near Nantwich. “We have classes to suit all levels of ability; from preliminary dressage tests with 2’3″ jumping to novice dressage tests with 3’6″ jumping. All are welcome and we have some great cash prizes and a warm atmosphere. We are lucky enough to have attracted generous sponsors who have donated prizes for the whole series and a sizeable prize fund.”
The first qualifier will be on 10th February 2010 and entries are still being taken for the 17th March event. For details on the competition visit www.southviewarena.com.
